Texas-based singer-songwriter Hudson Westbrook returns with slow-burning new country track Hits Me. The melancholic country groover tackles one of the genre’s most familiar themes – missing someone who is no longer around.
Packed with vivid country imagery from Hudson, Dan Alley and Ryan Beaver, Hits Me sees Hudson continue to confidently carve out his place in contemporary country as a modern torchbearer for a more traditional sound. Stripped-back production from Lukas Scott and Ryan Youmans allows Hudson’s emotive vocals to take centre stage, placing the focus firmly on the storytelling and feeling behind the track.
Hailing from Stephenville, Texas, Hudson Westbrook first introduced himself in 2024 with debut release Take It Slow, before finding further success with singles including Two Way Drive and House Again. The star’s organic, roots-driven country sound can be heard throughout his 2025 debut album Texas Forever, showcasing an artist with a deep connection to the traditions of the genre while bringing his own youthful perspective.
