She’s already smashed it with her legendary Army of Lovers collaboration Love is Blue and the euphoric, empowering hit Warrior. Now Ukrainian pop diva Olya Polyakova returns with My Future Ex. The track is the type that Olya does so well: huge vocals, high-octane Europop-inspired production and an effortless cool that she delivers in spades.

Olya notes: “Sometimes you fall in love with someone and you know it’s going to end with fights, or tears, or both. I wrote this song for everyone who has been there and done it anyway. It’s kind of like a dance workout for a broken heart.”

Olya wrote the song alongside its producers Red Triangle, with mixing provided by the Grammy-winning Guy Massey. An accompanying video directed by James Slater is to follow soon.

Ukrainian Olya has been hard at work on an English-language studio album, whilst also supporting the Ukrainian morale, performing for multiple troop brigades, as well as singing about issues such as women waiting for their soldier husbands to return home in her powerful single In Your Arms. Olya shares: “Part of my job is to help people forget about the war even for an hour.”

Keep up the good work, Olya! We can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.
