O!Dorian and The LaVettes Take Us to Eurodisco Heaven on ‘Versailles (Let Them Eat Cake)’

Continuing to draw inspiration from our pop heroes Army of Lovers, the brilliant eurodisco star O!Dorian continues his journey with The LaVettes on their new single Versailles (Let Them Eat Cake). The number channels the decadence, glamour and excesses of the French monarchy, with a Scandinavian pop sheen.

O!Dorian shares: “My first self-written song is finally out. It only took… three years, a record contract, fifteen turns in the studio and that the time actually felt right.”

The star shares that this was one of the first recorded tracks by O!Dorian and The LaVettes: “It was recorded with Jake E a looong time ago (2024) and was also the song that made me realise how much I wanted to get back into business. But we had to work with it a lot since it was made for O!Dorian and O!Dorian only. LaVettes was not even born at this time.”

O!Dorian adds: “Versailles was the start of O!Dorian & The LaVette’s and today I have the pleasure to introduce to you – The song that made my dreams came true again and where my life turned from longing for what I didn’t do anymore – into to loving what I’m doing again.

Speaking of his influences O!Dorian shares: “Music has always been special to me. Mum, dad, relatives and siblings can attest that ABBA, Baccara and Boney M went hot at home in the early 90s – before it quickly escalated to Army of Lovers, Leila K and optional Eurodance collection. In other words: this was probably inevitable.”
