We know that Prince’s vault of unreleased music is undoubtedly a treasure trove of masterpieces, and we are about to hear ten of these in freshly announced collection Timeless, arriving on August 28th. The collection brings together recordings created between 1977 and 2016, spanning the full breadth of the icon’s career – Stone – a previously unreleased recording from spring 1995 being the second of taste these.
Stone is written by Prince, Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Even and delivers classic soulful funk of the legend’s big nineties albums such as Diamonds and Pearls and The Gold Experience. Prince produces the track which is released via Legacy Recordings. With This Tear from the album, a recording from 1991, was previously released in April.
The album arrives after Prince Celebration 2026 taking place June 3–7, 2026 across Paisley Park and downtown Minneapolis. The event features conversations with Prince collaborators, offering unprecedented insight into the newly unveiled Vault recordings and the stories behind them.
