Natalie Imbruglia Continues ‘Algorithm’ Era with New Single ‘Just Drive’

Natalie Imbruglia continues the journey towards her upcoming album Algorithm, following the lead single Upside Down and title track with synth-drenched new number Just Drive. Like its predecessors, the latest cut sees the Australian pop talent continue to explore electronic pop sounds with impressive results.

Natalie says: “I wrote Just Drive about a breakup, and about something I think a lot of us do, which is hiding how we feel to make other people feel better. Sometimes you’d rather go through it on your own, as hard as that is. You love the other person so much, you don’t want to put them through it too.”

The track sees Natalie sing: “You know I would have given anything / I wish I could have gave you everything / So drive, just drive, let’s drive / So drive, just drive, let’s drive…” in lyrics that capture the feeling of wallowing and standing still in heartbreak, instead choosing to keep one’s foot on the gas and disappear into the distance.

Natalie wrote and produced Just Drive with MyRiot, who she collaborated with on several tracks from the upcoming album. Other contributors on the album include Fraser T Smith, Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Anu Pillai, Tobie Tripp, David Sneddon, Dan Priddy, Mark Crew and Romeo Stodart.
