They are two of Ukraine’s biggest musical acts MOLODI and Monokate join forces for танцювати поки живі (‘Dance While We’re Alive’), a collaboration that sees big dancefloor vibes combining with Ukrainian folk inspiration.
Release notes share: “Dance While We’re Alive” is a song about escaping from an anxious reality and trying to maintain inner lightness in a world that presses on from all sides. The musicians managed to combine seemingly incompatible styles and turn a folk motif into a modern pop single. The track is based on the Ukrainian folk song “A v kryvygo tantsya”. It is dance, as a symbol of movement, that conveys the idea of the single: Dance While We’re Alive, we should appreciate every minute and live it to the fullest.” [Translated from Ukrainian]
The track is written by Kyrylo Yevhenovych Rohovyi, Ivan Vasylovych Stepanishchev and the duo’s Pavlenko Kateryna Anatoliivna, with production from MOLODI. The number combines MOLODI’s pop swagger and cool with Go_A star Monokate’s traditional vocal, creating a fusion that celebrates Ukraine’s fusion of pop and traditional folk sounds.
Both MOLODI and Monokate took part in Vidbir 2026, vying to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest this year. You can read our interview with MOLODI here.
