ITALIAN POPItalian music legend Mina returns with new single Vento di passione (The Memory of Love), an elegant and touching composition lifted from her upcoming studio album. Mina’s new album Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze will arrive on 9 October, following her 2024 LP Gassa d’amante.
Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze sees a series of previously unreleased cover songs presented, including the recently dropped single A costo di morire. With the album title translating as Delightful Unreleased Extras, expect some hidden gems from Mina’s rich and varied recording career.
Album release notes share: “Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze, the third volume in the series conceived by Mina to showcase the gems she has kept tucked away in a drawer. This Dilettevoli has the distinctive feature of being made up entirely of cover songs performed by Mina and never previously released.“
It continues: “A Mina album of covers is not simply a collection of hits to be revisited, but the result of careful musical research that brings to light songs that are sometimes unknown but beautiful, and which only Mina has been able to discover.“
Mina has already given us her dazzling rendition of Fausto Leali’s A costo di morire and continues these impressive covers with Pino Daniele and Giorgia’s Vento di passione. On these tracks, Mina works with arranger and producer Massimiliano Pani.
