RISING TALENT

Mergui Shares Slinky Nu-Disco Single ‘Spotlight’ Ahead of ‘Gut Feeling’ EP

Mergui

Mergui continues his stratospheric pop rise with new single Spotlight. The rising talent delves into slinky nu-disco territory with the new single that showcases his silky vocals atop light and elegant dancefloor-geared production.

“And if they’re watching us, whatever / Let’s give them something to remember / All eyes on us, but we surrender / Dancing under the spotlight…” the pop heartthrob sings, conjuring feelings of dancing like no one is watching and truly embracing the connection with a special someone. Jonathan Mergui co-writes with hitmakers Jesse Shatkin and Álvaro Rodriguez, with Varo producing alongside Jesse, concocting the intoxicating seventies-flavoured pop production.

Mergui has ascended to an impressive 405k+ Spotify listeners each month, doing so with hits including Living Room, Risk It All and the previous single Alien.

It’s clear to see Mergui’s combination of pop vocals, an ear for a great musical hook and charismatic star quality has him destined for big things. These big things will arrive on his new EP Gut Feeling due on 20 November. See the tracklist below:

  1. Spotlight
  2. GF
  3. Never Call First
