MEEK Unveils Theatrical New Anthem ‘Beautiful Freeks’

MEEK debuted her latest track on Saturday Night Live UK last month, and now Beautiful Freeks receives its official single release. The track follows her anthemic pop-rocker Fabulous and sees her collaborate with co-writers Alex Smith and Nicole Blair. Production from Alex Smith and Greg Wells taps into grandiose, theatrical, Queen-inspired pop.

The musician, whose real name is Georgia Meek, rebranded after signing with BMG, with the latest track marking her second release through the label. She shares: “Beautiful Freeks is about recognising all of the wonderful weirdos who found me on that journey. I wanted to make something that had a nod to the Hey Jude era of British music. It’s been so fun to play out live and get people’s arms in the air.”

MEEK adds: “It’s a celebration of individuality, which is something I often think we’ve become afraid of as a society. It’s really very cool to be uncool. This is my homage to all the beautiful freeks who don’t fit in and follow their own beat. Long live individuality.”

On the brilliantly theatrical music video, MEEK said: “I was a village panto kid, and it was incredible to essentially relive that positive part of my childhood. It’s really who I am on an integral level.”

Hopes are high that MEEK will be dropping her debut album this year. See the star’s tour dates below.
