Marina teases her much-anticipated sixth studio album with brand new single Butterfly. The set will mark the Welsh star’s first album since 2022’s Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land and the release of her 2024 poetry collection Eat the World.
Butterfly sees Marina sing: “I’ve had enough of being on my own/ All these people I don’t know/ I guess I’ll make it on my own/ So I’m saying goodbye, goodbye/Watch me grow from afar as I turn into a butterfly/ Now I’m leaving you behind,” on the bubbling chorus which builds to an addictive hook which arrives in Marina’s unmistakably distinctive style. Hints of melancholy mingle with themes of metamorphosis in the liberating return for the pop talent.
Marina writes the track and co-produces Cj Baran. It certainly has us excited for the direction of Marina’s new album with the Primadonna hitmaker sounding incredible on the chamber-pop turned dancefloor cut.
