Malta’s AIDAN Releases ‘Bella’ His Stellar Entry for Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026

After releasing his stellar 2025 anthem Taste, Aidan returns with his official entry for Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026, the commanding Bella. Elegant and nostalgic, the number pays loving homage to the cultural and musical history of Malta, delivered with Aidan’s charm and musicality.

Written by Aidan Cassar, Joep Steven Van Den Boom and Sarah Bonnici (justice for Loop), Bella is produced by Aidan and Joep. The number is vying to represent Malta at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, with Aidan bringing this to MESC on the 15th of January. 18 songs will be performed in a semi-final with 12 proceeding to a final on the 17th of January.

Aidan shared with fans a little about the influences behind the track: “My song for Eurovision is called Bella. Bella is a poem – a jazzy, cinematic track inspired by the romance of the 1950s and 1960s. A song that features real music with an orchestra and lyrics in Maltese and English. Luxurious, grand, nostalgic.”

The Maltese star continues: “A reminder that there is beauty even in decay, in endings, in heartbreak, in the love that lingers after all of this time. Bella carries my identity, my roots, and the spirit of the island I’m proud to call home – Malta.”

Discussing the importance of representing Malta at Eurovision, Aidan shares: “I’ve always believed Malta has something magical to offer. This year, I want to bring the Maltese language all the way to Vienna… proudly, loudly, beautifully. But I can’t do it without you.” He adds: “Every message, every share, every comment, every person who believes in this journey, gives me the strength to move forward. We stand here together again… waiting for our worlds to align under the summer sky.”
