Madonna Releases ‘I Feel So Free’ From Upcoming ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor: Part II’ Album

Madonna has long since teased her album Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II, and this week we received the first taste of the set in buzz track I Feel So Free. The album marks Madonna’s reunion with original producer Stuart Price for a set that is expected to feature twelve standard tracks and four deluxe numbers.

I Feel So Free sees the US superstar firmly return to the dancefloor, with club and ballroom vibes channelled through an atmospheric club anthem, with Madonna delivering sultry, spoken-word whisperings.

Announcing the new album, the star quoted a new song, One Step Away. “People think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong,” she wrote in a press release. “The dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: a ritualistic space where movement replaces language.”

The musician describes the lyric as a “manifesto” for her new music. “We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,” she said. “These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years – they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect with your wounds, with your fragility.” She continued: “To rave is an art. It’s about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.”

Whilst the tracklist for the album is yet to be revealed, Sabrina Carpenter is expected to feature. Speculation is rife that Aussie superstar Kylie Minogue may appear on the album, although this seems a far less likely prospect than Carpenter.
