KAMRAD Embraces Summertime Heartbreak on 'Love Sober'

German singer-songwriter KAMRAD effortlessly blurs the lines between pop, EDM and soul on his releases, and his latest single Love Sober is no exception. The breezy summer pop tune marks KAMRAD’s first new music since his Trying Not to Panic EP, which arrived at the start of the year.

KAMRAD wrote the track with Markus Schlichtherle, Jonas Markschat and Christoph Koterzina, while production comes from ecci, KAMRAD and Jones. The result is an effortlessly addictive pop gem from the musician, who is currently embarking on an open-air tour of Europe. Love Sober makes the perfect addition to his setlist, which is already packed with feel-good pop anthems.

KAMRAD shares: “It’s the phase where you see things clearly again and even realize that the person or relationship wasn’t good for you after all.” It’s neither about big drama nor self-pity. Instead, the focus is on the feeling of relief – summed up in a single line that also forms the core of the song: “Now I’m love sober.”

While the production feels uplifting throughout, KAMRAD’s lyrics are tinged with a touch of summertime sadness, with the singer delivering the poignant lines: “You and I were drunk in love / Never thought I’d get enough / But it’s over / And now I’m love sober.”
