Eurovision icon JJ returns with a new electronic pop delight in the form of the empowering Not Afraid. The track is the first release from JJ since his May EP Into the Unknown, a release which marked his winner’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest stage in Vienna.

Not Afraid is written by Johannes ‘JJ’ Pietsch, Julia Sundberg, Tomi Saario and Wille Mannila, with production from the latter too. The single sees JJ deliver a vocal that combines his pop and operatic tones atop pumping electronic dance production, the result being a euphoric and uplifting treat.

JJ shared with fans: “Entering this new era, I wanted to make things a little more dancey. This year’s Wasted Love performance at Eurovision really inspired me to get more into dance.”

This dance is apparent in the accompanying video for Not Afraid, directed and produced by Amélie Siegmund and Julian Kleinert.

We are well and truly here for JJ’s new musical era on the dancefloor.
