Interview: Søren Torpegaard Lund Talks ‘Før vi går hjem’ and His Road to Eurovision 2026

Like many across Europe, we have fallen in love with Danish actor and musician Søren Torpegaard Lund’s powerhouse Eurovision Song Contest entry Før vi går hjem. Ahead of the 70th contest, Culture Fix’s Andrew had the pleasure of sitting down with Søren to dig into the track, explore the emotions of winning the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, and prepare to deliver his anthemic performance in Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle this May.

In our interview, Søren delves into his personal and artistic growth since performing Lige her in the 2023 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, and how he changes things up with Før vi går hjem in 2026. The Danish theatre star explores how the magic of the track came together in the studio, as well as crafting a performance that balances physical intensity and momentum with bold vocal skills.

Søren also discusses the preparations required before Eurovision in May, as well as navigating a small number of negative voices in what has otherwise been a truly positive response from the Danish public.

Søren also takes part in our traditional quickfire quiz, exploring his Danish music tastes, habits, and favourite things about his home nation. You can watch the full interview with Søren above. Make sure to follow our YouTube channel as well, as there are plenty more Eurovision interviews on the horizon.
