Interview: Senhit on Eurovision Legacy, Collaborating with Boy George on ‘Superstar’ and Love for San Marino

Italian musician Senhit has become a true Eurovision legend thanks to her entries for San Marino, including Stand By, Freaky, and Adrenalina. Senhit returns to represent the nation with Superstar, a slinky contemporary disco anthem, which she chatted to Culture Fix’s Andrew about in the above interview. The musician delved into collaborating with Boy George on the track, her journey since her Eurovision debut, and her love for San Marino.

In our interview, Senhit shares exactly how the impressive collaboration with Boy George came about and how the Culture Club star took a hands-on approach to working on the song. Senhit also delves into whether or not we can expect to see the Karma Chameleon hitmaker on the Eurovision stage in Vienna. The Bologna-based star explains how she will bring the song to life in May and offers some hints at what we can expect from the visuals, outfits, and stage performance.

The musician shares memories from her previous Eurovision entries, from her debut in 2011 to her attention-grabbing collaboration with Flo Rida in 2021. She also reflects on the suspense of whether the US rapper would make it to Rotterdam. Fans will likely remember Senhit’s Freaky Trip to Rotterdam, and the musician explores the artistic challenge and excitement that went into that truly memorable project.

Senhit explains how proud she is to be a cultural ambassador for San Marino, as well as her favourite things about the prestigious microstate. She also discusses how San Marino is increasingly becoming a major player in the Eurovision world.
