Rising country talents Ryan and Rory have built up a substantial bank of hits, including Truck Stop, Pour Decisions, and Lawn Chair in the Living Room. The duo are one of the most anticipated acts hitting the stage at Country 2 Country, and the singer-songwriters caught up with Andrew at Culture Fix to chat all about it.
Ryan and Rory delved into what fans can expect from their high-energy set this weekend, how the UK has been treating them so far, and whether we can expect more European and UK dates in the future. The duo also discussed the art of crafting an action-packed, thirty-minute set—opening with the brilliant Drunk and Lonely.
Fresh from dropping their recent single Wasn’t Thinkin’, Ryan and Rory spoke about the process of creating the track, the magic of a “studio therapy session,” and developing a modern country sound while paying homage to classic honky-tonk anthems. This naturally led to a discussion about their debut album, which is on the horizon; the musicians shared that they already have an extensive amount of music recorded and ready to go.
Make sure to stick around until the end of the video to see Ryan and Rory take part in our quickfire round, where they reveal their first gigs, favourite country tracks, and the song they wish they had written.
