One of our most anticipated tracks in the 2026 Melodifestivalen line-up is Patrik Jean’s Dusk Till Dawn. Andrew caught up with Patrik to chat about his return to the world of Melo as an artist, while reflecting on his impressive career as a songwriter and producer in the contest and across Europe’s various national finals. Patrik promised that we could expect epic, sweaty and euphoric vibes, teasing the atmosphere of the song.
Patrik found success at Melodifestivalen as an artist with Tears Run Dry back in 2021, but what feels different this time? Patrik discusses taking on the magnitude of the arena stage and the different sounds explored in Dusk Till Dawn, as well as sharing the deeper message behind the song that sits beneath its hopeful, euphoric vibes.
We asked Patrik how easy it is to switch off from the bookmakers’ odds, as well as about the experience of putting the song together and the build-up to delivering it on stage, after initially working on it over a year ago.
Patrik also spoke about his experience of working internationally in the world of national finals, with entries over the years in Denmark, Norway and, more recently, Montenegro. We also put Patrik to the test, finding out a little more about his Melodifestivalen preferences and his own musical either-or choices.
Dusk Till Dawn features in Melodifestivalen Heat 3 in Kristianstad. You can watch this Saturday night on SVT. Connect with Patrik here: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Facebook.
