Interview: Devin Juraj Reflects on Dora 2026 and Unveils Powerful New Track ‘I Could Never’

Devin Juraj made a bold impression at Dora 2026, with the star commanding attention through his performance of Over Me as part of the Croatian Eurovision song selection contest. Devin returns with more new music in the form of I Could Never, another emotive powerhouse that Culture Fix editor Andrew was delighted to chat about with the star. In our interview above, Devin explores the unlikely location that spurred the writing of the track and what we can expect from the musician’s upcoming, eagerly awaited album.

Of course, two months on from Dora 2026, Devin reflects on the experience of the Croatian national final after the buzz and noise of the contest have died down. Would Devin adjust anything about his performance? The star explores the performance and the response to the track in our interview, as well as discussing whether he would be interested in returning to the contest further down the line. Devin will soon be revisiting the world of Dora as part of the line-up for the Zagreb Eurosong warm-up party on 7 May 2026.

In our interview, Devin discusses his latest release, I Could Never, delving into the writing experience, the emotion at the heart of the track, and how it develops from the sonic territory of Over Me. The musician also touches on future music plans, from an Italian-language EP due this summer, followed by an album building on the sonic territory of his Dora entry.

With Devin the star of several successful theatrical projects, we could not help but ask him about his time playing Cabaret’s legendary Emcee, before finding out which stage role would be his dream project.

Thanks to Devin for taking the time to chat. You can connect with him here: Instagram, Spotify, Facebook and TikTok.
