Interview: Carmit On The Pussycat Dolls, New Music & Working With Icons

Carmit

Culture Fix’s Andrew had the pleasure of sitting down with Carmit to chat about her freshly dropped EPs, Carmit and Carmit Part II. The original Pussycat Dolls star delved into working on solo music, the legacy of the Dolls, and her work with icons of the music industry.

Carmit has released anthems such as Déjà vu, Go Hard Or Go Home and ME, as well as countless high-energy remixes – and the star chatted about the creative process behind the tracks and delving into the vaults to release them.

In the interview, Carmit explores the original days of the Dolls as a modern burlesque troupe working at The Roxy and The Viper Room, before making the transition to pop stardom with anthems like Don’t Cha. As well as delving into the highs of the Pussycat Dolls, Carmit shares the challenges of reforming, with tour plans and new single React before being stopped in their tracks by the pandemic.

With an extensive career in the entertainment industry, Carmit shares anecdotes from her time working with icons such as Michael Jackson, Beyoncé and Ricky Martin, giving a sense of the incredible experiences that have shaped her career.

As a proud ambassador for Operation Smile, the Pussycat Doll shares exactly what the charity means to her and how Don’t Cha has become an unofficial part of the project’s fundraisers.
