‘Masterpiece’ sees Heidi Montag deliver her boldest and most fully realised body of work yet, balancing hyperpop edge with striking emotional depth.
Heidi Montag has delivered no shortage of pop gems in recent months. Icon floored us with its vulnerable pop excellence, while Supermodel was classic Heidi. IV Drip and Ex Machina brought the hyperpop swagger that Heidi has excelled in recently, and now these tracks are given a permanent home on Heidi’s brand new album Masterpiece.
The title feels apt, with Heidi delivering the self-aware pop that made Superficial such a triumph. She has since followed that up with genuinely tremendous pop efforts such as Heidiwood, so expectations were high for Masterpiece. Heidi delivers pop that ranges from romantic to raunchy, emotionally vulnerable to unabashedly confident, and from icy roboticism to devastating humanity. Heidi’s creativity is undeniably impressive, with much of the album serving as the musician’s outlet in the wake of the devastating destruction caused by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
Tracks such as Matcha and Summer Love capture a breezy, nostalgic Americana, while Delulu captures the ups and downs of relationships with humour and a knowing wink. Gems including Splash and Up All Night continue to showcase Heidi’s pop prowess and versatility.
Heidi shared with fans: ‘I consider this my masterpiece. My art where everything has come together and fully executed my vision. The art I believe will have a full and lasting impact on my music and a pinnacle point of my music career.’
There is a real confidence and awareness of who she is as an artist on Masterpiece, with Heidi detailing the solace the project brought: ‘This album has created a world of escapism for myself this past year. It’s been an incredible focus to be able to pour my creativity into. I’ve worked very hard on every detail of this project.’
Hopes are high that Masterpiece will be pressed on physical formats, with vinyl records and CDs already requested by fans. Fingers crossed Heidi will not take too long to follow up Masterpiece with her next studio album, as it will no doubt be every bit as triumphant as this.
