Gregory Dillon continues his frutiger dillon project with a new early-noughties-inspired electronic anthem, msn (back 2 earth). The track sees Gregory draw influence from post-Y2K pop culture, including PlayStation 2 video games, TV adverts and Windows 98 backdrops, with both the music and aesthetic references really hitting the spot.
msn (back 2 earth) slows the tempo slightly but retains the impressive nostalgic electronic pop sound of the previous frutiger dillon releases. The track, in particular, draws influence from Owl City anthems such as Fireflies. Gregory co-produced the track alongside Byegone and PATØN.
The single follows Solar Angel, Windows98 and big chemistry, all of which have delivered a truly euphoric early-noughties electronic pop sound. As with all of the star’s releases we’ve covered on the site over the years, his vocals sound flawless.
