We’ve featured the music of Julien Lieb on the site over the year, with the star catching our attention with his powerful anthem Le jeu and the dancefloor anthem BPM, showcasing a performer with a skilled range, songwriting skill, and a musical magnetism. Now the performer releases his long-awaited debut album Naufragé (‘Castaway’) and it does not disappoint.
Julien shares: “It’s my story, my life, a raw piece of me. My two sides, gentleness and brutality. I created it for all those who feel shipwrecked, those who have gone through storms, who still bear their scars, but who move forward despite everything, guided by hope.”
The fifteen track set from the Star Academy performer includes singles Autrement, Le jeu, Encore une fois, and BPM as well as a number of previously unheard tracks. Showcasing Julien’s musical versatility, Naufragé delves into numerous genres from the glorious French ballad to intoxicating electronic pop. The star also features collaborations with OTTA, Soprano and Marilou on the set.
Interestingly, Julien also was asked about the prospect of representing France at Eurovision with 20Minutes, noting: “Any challenge appeals to me. I’m quite competitive, and I like to take on challenges. And it would be an honor to be chosen by my country to represent it at Eurovision. I’m not an athlete, but it’s a kind of European Cup for singers.”
The album is available in numerous formats from Julien’s official store and can be streamed above.
