France’s Jenifer Prepares ‘DJ’ Album with Dalida Cover ‘Mourir sur scène’

Jenifer takes on the legacy of another legendary chanteuse, Dalida, on her new single Mourir sur scène. The track was originally a hit for Dalida in 1983, with Jenifer set to feature it on her upcoming new album, DJ, which will revisit a number of Dalida classics, including Laissez-moi danser, Au Soleil, Gigi l’Amoroso and Ma Révolution.

Release notes accompanying Jenifer’s new version state: “Jenifer will be touring from 2027 with the ‘DJ TOUR’. With ‘DJ’, Jenifer revisits the repertoire of one of the greatest icons of French song, Dalida. A huge fan of her songs and the free spirit she embodied, Jenifer offers us new versions of these timeless hits.”

They continue: “An electro-disco album, which heralds a tour of Zéniths and arenas transformed into giant dance floors, where remixed hits from the two artists blend together, such as ‘Laissez-moi danser’, ‘Au Soleil’, ‘Gigi l’Amoroso’ and ‘Ma Révolution’. What better way to merge the worlds of these two iconic stars across generations than with the first single ‘Mourir sur scène’, all under the watchful eye of Orlando Gigliotti.”

Jenifer’s version of Mourir sur scène arrives alongside a high-energy music video that sees the star channel the classic elegance and dancefloor prowess of the iconic Dalida. In creating these new compositions, Jenifer garnered the support of Dalida’s brother and long-time collaborator, Orlando Gigliotti.
