We were thrilled to sit down with Australian-Lebanese recording artist Faydee, who is currently riding high with new singles Keda Eh and Yali Yali. Faydee has sustained a highly successful career in the music world – with success across the globe thanks to his hits Can’t Let Go, I Need Your Love (with Shaggy), and Laugh Till You Cry. Faydee sat down with site editor Andrew to chat about his expansive career, the stories behind these hits, and his journey to stardom.
In our conversation, Faydee reflects on his upbringing between Australian and Lebanese cultures, the role music played in his family home, and how those early influences shaped his creative path. Interestingly, Faydee opens up to how being part of an online music community helped build his confidence to delve into the world of music. He takes us back to his beginnings of remixing chart hits from his bedroom in his teens, before uploading demos online long before it was common, and what he hoped to express with his 2009 debut Never Saw Me Coming.
We were delighted to celebrate Faydee’s impressive international success including the surreal experience of watching Laugh Till You Cry and Can’t Let Go take off in countries he’d never visited – and seeing his fanbase continue to grow from there. Faydee also discusses his continued musical evolution, embracing a bilingual sound and blending Lebanese musical elements with modern pop on tracks like Keda Eh and Yali Yali.
In the interview we round things off with a quick-fire segment, revealing insights into Faydee’s tastes, habits, and the personal qualities fans rarely get to hear about.
Thanks to Faydee for giving up his time to chat and to his management team for organising. You can connect with Faydee on his social channels: Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Spotify.
