The Elevator Boys continue to go from strength to strength and enlist an all-star collaborator for their new track 1995, lifted straight from their upcoming debut film Back to the 90s. Collaborating with UK pop legend Gary Barlow, who writes and produces the track, 1995 sees the band deliver their trademark European boyband excellence, distinctive vocals and rousing production.
The track follows the group’s stellar Love Me Better, which continued to showcase their evolution and growing skill when it comes to cultivating their own pop image and sound. 1995 can be heard in the trailer for Back to the 90s, released on August 21, which sees the band capitalise on their fun and likeable image in the Malta-shot comedy.
According to Variety, the film centres on “The German-language Prime Video movie follows five best friends — Matteo (Julien Brown), Jonas (Tim Schäcker), Chris (Luis Freitag), Ben (Jacob Rott) and Oliver (Bene Schulz) — who are about to fulfil their dream of making it as a boy band when one member suddenly wants to throw it all away. Things take a turbulent turn when the group finds itself transported — via an elevator, of course — back to 1995.”
