Eurovision champion and Swedish schlager icon Charlotte Perrelli made headlines earlier this year with her desire to enter Spain’s Eurovision Song Contest selection event Benidorm Fest. Whilst circumstances have changed and Spain are not participating in Eurovision, Benidrom Fest went ahead but La Perrelli was not unveiled as part of the line-up. The Take Me to Your Heaven icon has now released her prospective entry for the contest, Todas nacemos con alas, and we’re delighted to say its everything we would want from a Latin schlager mash-up.
Translating to English as We Are All Born with Wings, Todas nacemos con alas is produced by Andreas Stone Johansson and Mats Ygfor, and written by Johansson, Juan Mari Montes and Malta Eurovision Song Contest regular songwriter Gerard James Borg. The number showcases Charlotte’s big vocals, atop a dramatic building production and high energy electronic beats.
We have high hopes that Charlotte makes her way back to Eurovision in some form – we would love to see in Benidorm Fest or for flying the flag for Sweden at Melodifestivalen again.
