Scottish rising star archie enters a more reflective chapter with his new single Everything I Wanted, a poignant exploration of innocence, growing up and the things we inevitably leave behind.
Described by archie as “a song about losing innocence” and “a requiem for dying childhood innocence”, the track marks an introspective moment for the Glasgow-based singer-songwriter and producer. While his previous releases have showcased his knack for playful, infectious pop, Everything I Wanted taps into something more vulnerable and emotionally resonant, delivered with a punchy vocal and angsty, attitude-fuelled production.
Speaking about the release, archie says: “This one means a lot to me, I hope it can to someone else too. Big love to Pat Hamilton for pretty much doing most of the writing while I was distracted looking for the right snare sound.” The track was produced by archie, mixed by Ryan DuLude and mastered by Kevin Tuffy.
Everything I Wanted adds another layer to an increasingly impressive discography from archie, real name Archie Collingridge Watt, who has already made his mark with releases including The Middle, Deepcuts, ohmygod! and The Narcissist.
His smash Nicotine has surpassed 25 million Spotify streams, while archie continues to attract close to 250,000 monthly listeners, underlining the growing audience behind one of Scotland’s exciting emerging pop artists.
