Alexis Strum Takes On Singledom With Melancholic Pop Rocker ‘Everybody’ Ahead of Upcoming ‘Swim’ Album

You may remember back in May, we featured an interview with the very brilliant Alexis Strum to chat about her previous single Swim and a very camp journey to San Marino – now the star returns with new single Everybody, an uptempo electropop-rocker. In the new track, Alexis tackles singledom with dash of melancholy, mixed with danceable production and bittersweet lyricism.

Everybody is the fourth single to be taken from Alexis’s upcoming album Swim – arriving on the 19th of September – and following previous pop delights Karma, If You Think I’m Too Much (You Should Go Find Less), and title track Swim. Alexis’s latest single sees her collaborate with producers Shadow Hands (Tom Meighan, Toby Lee) delivering uptempo guitars, slick grooving electropop vibes, and relatable lyrics including the poignant hook ‘Everybody’s got somebody but me!’.

When we chatted with Alexis, she shared: “Next up will be a really great single called, ‘Everybody‘ and the full title is ‘Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me‘ which is , I’m afraid, factually true! I don’t have anyone. I think I’m ok with that but the song is kinda making a joke about it all and that’s where my head is at with singledom for the now. I used to feel ‘lesser’ for not having a partner but that is bonkers. Plus, we all know that Kingsley Ben-Adir is just waiting for the right moment to wife me up.”

Everybody and Alexis’s previous three singles have us truly excited for the upcoming Swim album, which will undoubtedly showcase a pop star at the top of their game! And Kingsley, if you’re reading this, drop Alexis a DM, will ya?!
