AJ Mitchell Explores Complex Romance on Personal New Single ‘Easier’

“Is it easier to stay? Is it easier to go? / I don’t wanna know, oh / But I know that I’m never, ever gonna change / And you know that you’re always gonna stay the same…” AJ Mitchell sings on his latest track, Easier. The song follows a string of deeply personal tracks such as Hold You Up and Try Again, which have showcased an emotive new angle to his work.

AJ wrote and produced the new track alongside Kareem James, Dallas Canton, and Sol Was. Accompanied by artwork featuring AJ in a black vest gazing ahead, the song tackles the themes of a complicated, passionate relationship that neither AJ nor the person he sings about can quite walk away from.

AJ’s most recent album was As Far as the Eye Can See in 2025, which followed his debut LP, Skyview. It is thought that Easier and Hold You Up may be part of an upcoming extended project from the star.
