This Melodifestivalen we are torn between three standouts: Robin Bengtsson’s Take a Chance, Felix Sandman’s Boys With Emotions and Victor Crone’s Troubled Waters. We would be delighted with a win for any of these handsome gents – especially now Queen Nanne is no longer in the running, but we do have a particular soft spot for Robin – especially now the video for his single has been unveiled.
Take a Chance was written by Jimmy Jansson, Karl-Frederik Reichhardt and Marcus Winther-John and made it straight to the upcoming grand final by winning the first Melfest semi-final. It’s Bengtsson’s strongest vocal yet and an undeniably rousing pop number showcasing the singer’s range. The pulsating high BPM production paired with the Robin’s smooth vocals makes a charming blend.
The sing-a-long factor of the chorus’ “We could take a chance,” and continuously building production makes for an anthemic stadium ready delight.
And because it wouldn’t be a Culture Fix post without some ogling, we’ve attached a shot of Robin at the Melfest final preparations below.
