Trailer: The Invisible Man

HG Wells’ classic tale of The Invisible Man gets a fresh update courtesy of producer Jason Blum and director Leigh Whannell and whilst it does not look to have masses in common with its source text, looks scary as hell.

Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson-Cohen star in this upcoming horror which is due in cinemas February 28th. This incarnation of The Invisible Man moves away from Universal’s planned Dark Universe series which was due to have Johnny Depp play the iconic horror figure – scrapped due to the poor performance of the Tom Cruise lead The Mummy reboot. Thankfully where The Mummy abandoned horror in favour of Mission: Impossible style action set pieces, Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man seems focused purely on terror. Check out the official synopsis below.

“Trapped in a violent, controlling relationship with a wealthy and brilliant scientist, Cecilia Kass (Moss) escapes in the dead of night and disappears into hiding, aided by her sister (Harriet Dyer, NBC’s The InBetween), their childhood friend (Aldis Hodge, Straight Outta Compton) and his teenage daughter (Storm Reid, HBO’s Euphoria). But when Cecilia’s abusive ex (Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House) commits suicide and leaves her a generous portion of his vast fortune, Cecilia suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of eerie coincidences turns lethal, threatening the lives of those she loves, Cecilia’s sanity begins to unravel as she desperately tries to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see. “
