Michael Douglas and Jeremy Irvine star in future straight to video classic, Beyond the Reach. It’s rare to see Douglas in this sort of role, but if VOD is good enough for De Niro, then it’s good enough for Douglas.
Keeping things simple, the film follows a wealthy businessman (Douglas) who accidentally shoots a person whilst in the Mojave Desert. Douglas’s businessman then turns on the only other person who saw the crime, his young guide (Irvine).
There really isn’t much to say here because Beyond the Reach just looks like plain old fashioned fun. The concept of Douglas stalking a half-naked Jeremy Irvine around the desert kind of sells itself.
US readers, Beyond The Reach opens in cinemas and on VOD on April 17th. Anywhere else in the world – who knows?
