Stick this one right at the top of our most anticipated pile for 2015. Wild Horses is the fourth narrative feature from actor-director Robert Duvall – we see the veteran star act alongside James Franco and Josh Hartnett in this, his first film in thirteen years.
When a detective (Luciana Duvall) decides to reopen a missing persons case from fifteen years prior, her case leads to a local rancher Scott Briggs (Duvall). Franco and Hartnett star as the Brigg’s sons caught up in the drama.
Duvall’s 1997 feature The Apostle is an underrated masterpiece and showcased his penchant for telling human stories so we hope he can recapture some of that magic here. Whilst narratively Wild Horses seems a little similar to The Judge, we’re intrigued to see what the eighty-four year old icon can serve up.
In the US Wild Horses arrives in theatres and OD on June 5th. We hope this one will be hitting a few UK festivals this Summer.
