There have been several attempts to portray James Dean on the big screen with actors such as James Franco and Casper van Dien attempting to explore the iconic star’s enigmatic persona. The latest actor to attempt stepping into the Eden star’s shoes is Dane DeHaan, who teams-up with Robert Pattinson in Life.
Anton Corbijn directs this tale which sees Dean meet with Dennis Stock (Pattinson), a photographer for Life Magazine, and the subsequent friendship that developed between the pair.Ben Kingsley and Joel Edgerton round-off the supporting cast.
Life looks like quite a low-key affair and despite initial scepticism it looks like DeHaan has managed to capture a similar spark to Dean. It hits UK cinemas September 25th.
