Country Sensation Cam Returns With First New Single in Four Years ‘Alchemy’

Californian country sensation Cam has kept us waiting near four years since her last solo release, but now the singer begins the journey to her upcoming fourth studio album with new single Alchemy.

The track is written by Cam, Anders Mouridsen, Michael Uzowuru and Tyler Johnson with the latter also producing. Joni Mitchell also receives a writing credit on the track, with reference to her track Woodstock.

Cam shares “I wanted to write something where we just focused on melody, but it turned into a song about reflecting on what we’re made of, where we’re coming from and where we’re going.” She shared with fans: “Alchemy is out everywhere now! Dance, sing and don’t forget to marvel at the world around you in the short time we are given in these borrowed bodies made of stardust. WE ARE GOLDEN!”

Although five years since her album The Otherside, Cam has been busy with songwriting, production, and backing vocals on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album. The star rivals some of Beyoncé’s visual panache on her latest music video for Alchemy which sees an impressive one-take visual directed by James Mackel.
