Sophie Ellis-Bextor Gives Us ‘Vertigo’ in String-laden New Dance Anthem

Hot on the heels of her previous tracks Relentless Love and Freedom of the Night, Sophie Ellis-Bextor releases Vertigo. The number feels like it could be a classic Sophie track from the Make a Scene era, boasting lavish strings, pounding synths, and these unmistakably ethereal vocals.

The star purrs: “Spinning in the highs / Think you better know, you give me vertigo (vertigo) / There′s no stopping / Looking in your eyes…” atop production from James Greenwood and strings from David Arnold. The lyrics are penned by Hannah Robinson, James Greenwood and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Whilst Relentless Love and Vertigo are said to be more buzz tracks than singles, they nonetheless have us excited for Sophie’s upcoming new studio album which will see her return to her dance and electronic pop roots.
