Ukraine’s Max Barskih Delivers ‘Someone New’ – Second Single From Upcoming English Album

Max Barskih previously released single Stomach Butterflies, the first from his upcoming new English album. The Ukrainian star now follows this up with Someone New, an emotional pop number that tackles betrayal, enlightenment and moving on.

A press release shares: “While the first single, “Stomach Butterflies,” explored the energy of love, this second track addresses what remains after love fades. It’s painful, honest, and familiar to almost everyone. “Someone New” serves as the emotional counterpoint to “Stomach Butterflies,” revealing hidden aspects and desires of the human soul.”

Max notes: “It’s about that moment after a breakup when emotions come crashing in waves: first love, then anger, disappointment, and finally the cutting truth. You’ve been betrayed. You’ve given your heart to the wrong person. But this song isn’t about pain for pain’s sake—it’s about acceptance, letting go, and moving forward. I want listeners to see themselves in this story because we’ve all been there.” Max writes the track, which sees him produce alongside Kyrylo Rohovyi, Ivan Stepanishchev and Josh Tyrrell.

Max is currently hard at work on his new album which is set to showcase collaborations with a number of different producers – the final tracklist still to be confirmed. Like previous single Stomach Butterflies, the new single is accompanied by visuals from Alan Badoev, who shares: “This single gives birth to a new image for the artist. To emphasize it, we drew inspiration from the aesthetics of ‘A Clockwork Orange.’ In this story, Max is neither a hero nor an antihero; he’s the truth we often fear seeing within ourselves.”

To accompany the English album, Max will be hitting the US, Canada and Europe on a global tour. Tickets are available here.
