Erika Vikman takes to the Eurovision Song Contest stage in Basel in May with her already-iconic entry Ich Komme. The fan-favourite number sees Erika embrace female empowerment and sexuality in the delightfully energetic, glamorous and camp euphoric pop anthem. The star represents Finland with the entry and we are sure she will deliver an incredible result with the track. Erika chatted to Culture Fix editor Andrew about the song, changes to the number, and revisited her previous UMK entry Cicciolina.
In the interview, which you can watch above, Erika chats about her contact with Cicciolina aka Ilona Staller, constructing the song with Eurovision in mind, and working with the EBU on changes to her unforgettable performance. The Finnish pop icon also discusses her Eurovision journey so far and delves into some of the excitement behind Ich Komme’s artistic identity in the music video.
Erika teases the staging of Ich Komme in three words – spicy being one of the suggested adjectives – whilst she also goes on to discuss some of the music we can expect after Eurovision, including an incredibly powerful ballad, which we cannot wait to hear.
Thanks to Erika for taking the time to chat and her team for organising.
