Damiano David Strips It Down For Pensive New Track ‘Next Summer’

Damiano David continues his run of impeccable solo work outside of his time in Måneskin. The Italian hunk accompanies his new track Next Summer with a literal stripped down video filmed in an Italian prison.

Damiano shares: “At first listen, the song speaks about youthful love – an unrequited summer romance. But on a deeper level, it reveals a much larger reflection. It’s an allegory of life – how sometimes we can be prisoners of ourselves, our fears, our insecurities, our inability to change. Our failure to see the world and life from a different perspective in the crucial and defining moments of existence.”

The slow-burning pop number sees Damiano croon atop stripped back production from Jason Evigan and Mark Schick. Next Summer is written by Damiano David, Jason Evigan, Mark Schick and Sarah Hudson. It follows Damiano’s cover of Nothing Breaks Like a Heart, the bombastic Born with a Broken Heart, and Silverlines. His debut solo album is expected this year.
