Wes Nelson makes the most of the summer with his new single Barcelona which sees him put his own pop-R&B spin on D. Kay and Stamina MC’s 2003 track of the same name. The number was a #14 hit in the UK.
Wes’s version sees him collaborate with production duo Billen Ted – made up of Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan. The duo bring the anthem up to date with a contemporary pop sound, turning it into a number ripe for 2024.
Wes shares: “When I heard the original it really resonated with me. I knew I wanted to put my own spin on it, but keep the core of what made the original an anthem. For me it’s a fun, exciting, summer tune and Billen Ted have smashed bringing it up to date.”
The Love Island star has recently signed with RCA with this being the first collaboration between the musician and label. Wes hit his chart peak (so far) with debut single See Nobody in 2020 – a #3 hit.
