Joe Jonas delivers his first solo music since his 2011 solo album Fastlife in the form of new single Work It Out set to be taken from his upcoming new studio album Music For People Who Believe in Love which arrives on October 18th via Republic Records.
Joe shared: “I’m both excited and emotional as I’m gearing up to release new music. I’m humbled and grateful to collaborate with some of my favorite musicians and creators. I hope you find as much happiness & peace as I do when you listen to these songs.”
Speaking to the Therapuss podcast, Joe revealed he collaborated with Alexander 23, Justin Trainor, Jason Evigan, Tommy English, MUNA’s Josette Maskin, Paris Carney, and more. He notes: “We made an album in 2 – 3 weeks. Just 2 rooms all at once and I’m just really excited. It’s the most personal music I have ever put out.”
The music takes an introspective tone, with Joe crooning against up-tempo pop-rock flavoured production from Jason Evigan: “Come on, Joe, you got so much to be grateful for / Stop being sad ’cause you’re making the room uncomfortable / Okay, I get it, right now, you’re feeling so miserable / Sometimes I wish I had powers to be invisible.”
As well as still being a part of the Jonas Brothers, Joe has also released music through side-project DNCE which leans into more dance and funk flavoured pop. DNCE released their sole studio album in 2016 but subsequently reunited in 2022 with Kygo collaboration Dancing Feet and standalone singles Move and Got Me Good. The Jonas Brothers are continuing to tour and also released their sixth LP The Album in 2023.
The star explained that the music wasn’t quite right for either the Jonas Brothers or DNCE, noting: “I was like I don’t know what it’s for but I know I want to work on something I feel like the pull emotionally to work on music. And so I asked my brothers blessings, and I was like, ‘I don’t want to call it solo, but I want to go do something on my own, and I don’t feel like it’s DNCE and I need to go just express stuff for myself.’”

“I am thrilled to share my new solo album with you – Music For People Who Believe In Love. This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me.
When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment. It’s okay to cry and mourn a loss – it’s part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about.
This album speaks to the experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I’ve found in doing what I love for a living. I feel incredibly fortunate to travel the world and connect with people through my music, as well as having had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented musicians, songwriters, and producers on this project.
A director I once worked with had a handwritten note above his camera during filming that asked, “What do you want them to feel?”. This question still resonates with me every time I step on stage or create new music. The ability to perform, connect deeply with an audience, and evoke positive emotions, or even healing, is a gift I cherish.
This album is a reflection and celebration of life. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it. Please enjoy!
With love and gratitude,
Joe”
