Rising talent Debbii Dawson finds a home at RCA Records, releasing her latest single for the label Turn the TV On this weekend. The track highlights Debbii’s gently nostalgic vocals, pairing her with seventies-inspired pop production from the singer-songwriter and Leroy Clampitt.
Warming acoustic guitar soundtracks Debbii’s vocals, gradually building with mixed multi-instrumentation. With lyrics centred on escaping a difficult world through the absorbing glow of the television, Debbii comments: “The true meaning of this song lies in what is unsaid. Wishing that I could turn the world off but instead finding an escape in turning my tv on, never leaving home, and the numbing mundaneness of an uneventful life.”
Debbii released the single Happy World, which is also set to feature on her upcoming EP How To Be Human which is set for release on Friday June 28th.
