Conchita Wurst Releases Scintillating Electronic Pop Gem ‘Dirty Maria’

Conchita Wurst releases their final track of 2022, the ambitious Dirty Maria. Dirty Maria is written by Tom Neuwirth (aka Conchita Wurst) and Martin Zerza with production from Lukas Klement. The number is a scintillating electronic pop gem that showcases Conchita’s evocative vocals against magnetic production and a soaring chorus.

A press release shares: “The song revolves around boundless greed and opens up a view into people’s abysses in the depths of their psyche in the balancing act between temptation and restraint, for which one always devises their own escape tactics.”

Dirty Maria is set to be accompanied by a video directed by Elisa Kroiss, which is filmed in one of Vienna’s oldest and most distinguished bathing establishments: the Kaiserbründl Gay Sauna.

Dirty Maria follows Conchita’s previous 2022 single Call Me Up. It is not clear whether both tracks are set to be included on a full length project in 2023 – this would be Conchita’s first since their 2019 album Truth Over Magnitude.
