They say good things come to those who wait, and like many we held off with bated breath for the reveal of the BBC and TaP Music’s collaboration to select the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest 2022 representative. Last week it was unveiled to be the tremendous Sam Ryder, who will compete with his entry Spaceman.
Sam found viral success during lockdown with his various Tik Tok covers which caught the eye of numerous stars across the globe such as Alicia Keys – yet it is his original music that looks set to impress at this year’s upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. Spaceman is penned by Sam, Max Wolfgang and Amy Wadge with production from Koz. Amassing over one million Spotify streams already, the mid-tempo is a beautiful showcase for Sam’s vocals and boasts an aspirational tone perfect for Eurovision.
There is a sense from bookmaker’s odds and fan reception that Spaceman could be the song to turn the UK’s recent Eurovision fortunes around. We’ll be hoping for the top left side of the scoreboard with this one.
Good luck Sam. Connect here.
