Betty Boo Drops the Video for Supreme Banger ‘Get Me to the Weekend’, Teases Much Anticipated Album

Betty Boo unleashes a kaleidoscopic fantasy in the video for Get Me to the Weekend, her earworming comeback anthem. The British pop talent released the single earlier last month, premiering on Rylan’s BBC Radio 2 show and it has since proved impossible to get the track out of our heads. The freshly released anthem is the first of expected new music from Betty who is gearing up to drop a full length album later in the year.

Get Me to the Weekend sees the singer playfully croon “I’ll go anywhere with you / Fridays never felt so good / A celebration a mini vacation it’s so cool / Forget about work and bills / Take a drive up to the hills…” in one of the track’s verses. Set against buoyant electronic production which samples The Human League’s Love Action, Betty has crafted a lush, uplifting anthem that celebrates the feel good vibes of the weekend. The track is produced by Betty, Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg, with Betty and Andy co-writing.

Betty stays true to her iconic sound, blending singing with attitude filled rap, a sound which made her a formidable force in the UK music scene with albums Boomania and GRRR! It’s Betty Boo released in the early nineties. Betty has since had a prolific career as a pop songwriter with tracks for Girl’s Aloud, Dannii Minogue and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
