Dolly Parton asserted herself as one of the heroes of the pandemic, donating to the research which led to the Moderna vaccine – and now the country icon ventures into more familiar territory with her latest track Big Dreams and Faded Jeans. The song will appear on Dolly’s upcoming album Run, Rose, Run which is due March 4th 2022 – a record that coincides with her James Patterson novel collaboration of the same name.
Dolly has always been a incredible storyteller, crafting rich imagery and emotional journeys within her songs. Big Dreams and Faded Jeans is no exception with Dolly singing in the opening “Put on my jeans, my favorite shirt / Pull up my boots and hit the dirt / Finally doin’ somethin’ I’ve dreamed of for years / Don’t know quite what to expect /A little scared, but what the heck / My desire is always greater than my fear….” capturing her protagonist’s goals of abandoning the norm in the hopes of Nashville stardom.
Dolly marks the latest star to collaborate with James Patterson with the author recently collaborating with Bill Clinton in recent years.
