KEiiNO have been keeping us well fed of late and the their latest single VENUS is another slice of schlager flavoured Scandinavian pop – with this one leaning towards 00s pop-rock sounds. The track arrives three weeks after the band’s Halloween-themed banger End of Time (A Taste of Heaven) which we are still not over.
The band shared: “This summer, Alexandra came to us with a melody that we all though was really, really good. We felt this one belonged on a big stage, and that the lyrics should be powerful.” VENUS is produced by Rüdiger Schramm and Tom Hugo, recorded at Cederberg Studios in Kristiansand, Norway. They add: ‘Venus’ is about finally being confident in your own skin, and freeing yourself from whatever has been holding you back.”
VENUS sees Alexandra lead with empowering lyrics including: “Venus, I’m burning in the earthless fear / And I don’t care, no, if I shine too bright / I’ve seen the bеauty in the blinding light / Now I can fly…” capturing themes of self-belief and confidence against nostalgic noughties-influenced pop-rock production.
In other news, KEiiNO are back on Instagram so make sure to give them a follow.
