Minute Taker Releases New Synth Flavoured Single ‘After the Rain’ With Bright Light Bright Light

Manchester-based artist Minute Taker may have caught your attention in recent years with his Kate Bush cover Running Up That Hill (and its fabulous Matt Pop remix), but now the rising pop talent returns with new single After the Rain. Minute Taker’s latest sees him collaborate with Bright Light Bright Light on this track which is scheduled to feature on his upcoming album Wolf Hours.

“Fearless, cosmic angels… we burn bright tonight” the singer croons against a pulsating baseline, blending in elegant piano and smooth synths alongside charming vocals from both himself and Bright Light Bright Light. After the Rain is a woozy escapist synth delight that wouldn’t feel out of place in a cult eighties feature film.

Minute Taker, who pens the track, incorporates a dual meaning that delves into both relationships and the wider queer community – he shares: “On the one hand, it’s about the ups and downs of a really tempestuous relationship: the kind that can be like ecstasy and pure magic at times and at other times, tearing each other apart. On a different level, it’s about the journey of the LGBTQ+ community over recent history, ‘fearless cosmic angels, burning bright’ in the face of prejudice, weathering whatever adversity comes our way.”

Wolf Hours is scheduled to arrive in November. Connect with Minute Taker below:
