Annie continues to tease her upcoming Neon Lights EP – revealing one of the surprising cover versions from the upcoming set, Just Like Honey. The track was originally a release from Scottish rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain written by William Reid and Jim Reid taken from their 1985 debut album.
Annie puts a refreshingly synth-heavy spin on the track with producer Stefan Storm who collaborated on the singer’s stellar Dark Hearts album last year. The EP will also feature the recently-released Jake Shears collaboration Neon Lights and Patrick Swayze cover She’s Like the Wind.
We’re excited to have new music from Annie so quickly and if the delightful uplifting kitsch of Neon Lights and the slinky synth cool of Just Like Honey is an indicator of the whole EP’s sound, we cannot wait.
